Our mission is to fill the gap in music education within elementary and middle school curricula, particularly in Scott Valley and Siskiyou, by providing a comprehensive and immersive musical experience for students of all ages.

Learners come together on the farm two or four afternoons per week to discover the enriching world of Farm School through a variety of exciting classes, while integrating with a nurturing community of friends and mentors. Learn More!

Our Programs
Farm School
Farm School is a unique concept: a youth learning center situated on a working farm. Rather than spending a few minutes per day outside, at Farm School children spend the majority of their time outdoors. Children are immersed in hands-on learning inspired by the natural world, and guided by teachers to achieve learning targets based on individual student goals. Farm School’s mission is to nurture the development of curious, creative and compassionate children while honoring and strengthening deep-rooted connections to community, nature and the environment.
Farm School is building a model for a new type of school - one that emphasizes connection with each other, with community, and with the natural world.

Afternoon Discovery
Afternoon Discovery at Farm School offers a unique way for children to integrate into the Farm School community on a part-time, seasonal schedule. Exciting and engaging classes like Farm & Garden, STEM, Art, and Music are just some of types of classes offered. When you sign your student up for Afternoon Discovery, your child will be integrated into the Farm School community, participating in classes alongside other full-time and part time students. All kiddos will end the day in community meeting, participating in daily chores and enjoying an afternoon snack!
Afterschool
We are thrilled to offer after-school care for students throughout the Siskiyou community, extending our mission of providing hands-on, farm-immersive education beyond the school day. Our program is designed to support working families, nurture students' curiosity, and foster a love for learning in a safe and enriching environment. Our after-school program offers a variety of classes and unstructured play, tailored to the interests of each child. Classes include:

Recognizing the gap in music education within elementary and middle school curricula, especially in Scott Valley and across Siskiyou, our program fills this void by providing students with a comprehensive musical education intertwined with the natural rhythms of farm life. With two amazing music teachers, kids of all ages progress through foundational music concepts through instrument skill, performance, songwriting, music theory, and music tech.
