Welcome!

What is
Farm School?

We believe that opportunities to learn exist all around us, and often not in a classroom setting. At Pasture Raised Kids, the classroom is a three-acre farm shared with goats, chickens, dogs, rows of berries, flowers, pumpkins, raised garden beds, and plenty of dirt to dig in.

Educational Freedom

Parents and children should be empowered to lead their

educational journey.

Environmental Connection

Children should be educated in

harmony with their natural

environment, not separate from it.

Hands on Learning

Knowledge is the product of action. Children learn best when they are engaged in active, hands-on exploration and interaction with their environment. (Jean Piaget)

WELCOME TO OUR FARM

We would love to see you!

  • We work hard to keep fees affordable.

Costs to operate per child annually are approximately $15,000 per child

but our fees are a fraction of that.

    • 1st child in a family: $4,750 annually,

    • second child: $3,750 annually,

    • third and subsequent children: $1,000 annually

  • We do! Check out our Afternoon Discovery program for part time options.

  • We are full for the 2024/2025 school year but we encourage you to reach out as things are always changing.

  • We would love to help! Check out our resources for educators page and feel free to reach out. niki@pastureraisedkids.org

  • Not at this time, but we love to brainstorm creative ideas to make the finances work!

    Feel free to reach out.

  • For the 2024/2025 school year, students must be 4 (turning 5 during the school year) thru 12.

We grow one grade-equivalent per year.

  • Typically, students begin music with Thomas at 7 unless your child has previous

    experience with an instrument.

  • Yes. Please contact Thomas directly.

  • No, we don’t do either. We track student progress through a variety of mechanisms including student portfolios/work samples, teacher observation, written narratives, and more.
